While I was at Bolton, I read some bad news in an e-mail, so I thought I better share it now, to let people know before rumours get out or out of hand. It appears that the Inside Darts magazine will have to take a shortish forced pause – due to the health of the publisher. It’s sad news, both for Chris and darts world (cause a strong new magazine can’t be a bad thing), and obviously the subscribers (if you have subscribed, please see the last line of the quote below). The publisher promises that the title will relaunch even stronger.
I hope more news will come out soon – but for now I’d probably advise that you take this all into account if you do go to sign-up for a new subscription on the website (I’m sure that will be updated at some point soon to point out the situation). I’m still hopeful that the June issue could be released very soon, as it was ready to roll I believe.
From Chris Haill the publisher of Inside Darts magazine;
I haven’t been too well over the past few weeks and last month or so and this is culminating in an operation. I have been advised medically that I need to rest completely for a period of up to 6-8 weeks, which means completely. This is not something I do easily but have to make sure my health is the most important thing in my agenda at the moment.Therefore, I am announcing that the magazine will not be published in the the next 2/3 months. It is purely a decision I make on my own and a very difficult one as the magazine was doing so well and had been received so well by the Darts audience/ sector, this is owing to the excellent editorial, production, work of my SD, John Wilson and all the brands/associations who showed support from day 1. The magazine will be relaunched in SEPTEMBER and also I feel will be stronger.
I will also be working with my subscription partners to inform the readership asap giving them the option to receive their subscription payment back or continue to receive from Septembers issue.
